Starting to repair/build a new to me GX460. Have a few ideas/questions that I could use a little help with. I'm in the market for an offroad bumper but noticed some are only made for 2010-13's, others for 2014-up, and some that work for all years. I'm also in the market for some new and possibly modified headlights like the ones teq customs offer. My current lights are cracked on the backside of both headlights. With that in mind is it possible to put a 2014-up offroad bumper on my 2011 provided I change out the headlights to 2014 and find a 2014-up bumper cover?

A few days after purchase.

That would be a question for the manufacturers as each bumper design fits differently, depending on the older or newer style of grill

This may not answer your OP questions, but for a resource you may want to look over this sticky link on the main page: Guide to GX 460 Builds and Aftermarket Products
There's a lot of good info there.
Also, I did a quick Google search and then used AI to answer this search question: "gx460 pre 2014 upgrade to post 2014 front bumper and grill"
It had a very good answer that may help you.

Welcome to the club. I ride around in a 2012. Obviously aesthetics are personal preference along with some practical use (i.e. what are you doing with your ride). Some folks build offroad rigs, other big supped up mallcrawlers, other longevity, and of course those who enjoy a little luxurious ride - I am sure there are more and I am not knocking any of them, to each their own.

Me, I like the grill and front end on the 2010-2013 GX460 the best (I also like the body on the GX470 better). Here are some resources of information as I have been researching bumpers (to include what you are asking about).

In the end you can do anything you want with the right money, time, and knowledge. What you choose will be up to you given how you approach these parameters. Good Luck, and post some pics of your accomplishments!

I have looked around a bit and searched a few mud threads reading the ones pertaining to this conversion. However I have yet to find one that documents their success for others to follow. Maybe I've just missed those in my search. Do you know of any build in particular that has done this conversion?
I used ai to search the topic as you suggested and it did turn up a wealth of knowledge however I'm not experienced enough to apply it myself without doing some real digging and learning which may come with time. I was really hoping that some of the lighting companies such as teq customs or the like would have a plugnplay harness I could use to fit the newer light housings if need be. I also contacted slee offroad but it is something they would only do at their shop.....they have a YouTube video discussing this conversion.

I just ordered 2" lift ironman foam cell coilovers both for the price and adjustability. Probably just going to use a lift spacer for the rear.....no rear airbags. My truck is mostly for work and family vacations with the occasional trail here and there. Plan on waiting for goliath offroad to reveal their gx460 bumper before purchasing a dobinson front bumper. I like lil b's but think the dobinson fits the family truck look better.
I don't see the ironman bumper available any longer or arb so dobinson seems like my only option. There have been a few only designated for the 14-up crowd that I have considered but still on the fence about the swap.

Need to lift the rear to level it out. Thinking 1" would be enough but ironman website says the isolator may need to be removed. Anyone with experience with this issue?

My door handles are exactly the same as your before look!
I'd love to do mine. What/how did you do yours?
Please post the product or what it was you used.
Just got some cheap ebay replacements. Will edit with a link. Oem is just double sided taped on btw.

I used a sturdy small flathead screwdriver to get under the edge.

Carefully pry in the locations in the pictures so you don't scratch your paint. Once I got it started coming off I would get a little more aggressive with the screwdriver going under the trim piece. Remember the handle is just painted plastic so if you do a little damage it will be covered back up with the new trim and won't rust. Make sure you dont wedge from the top or bottom though as that may leave a permanent mark that wont get covered up. My trim broke in several pieces as I removed them, very brittle. The handle itself had little to no damage. You could probably pull it away with a pick tool or similar if you're nervous about using a screwdriver to start it.

In the last photo you can see another location you could start from. Had to get one trim off by wedging the blade in the gap you see between the trim and handle that makes a "\_/" shape. Pulled the handle and kept my knee against the door to get access.

Is this like what you have?
Most everything on eBay looks like a full handle replacement, not just the chrome cover.

I put the link to the seller I bought them from a few posts up. Post #10
Ahhh, my bad. Missed it as I was scrolling through before.
Thanks again!

Was thinking of getting teq customs to build me some new headlights. Would I be crazy to have them built with no halos or demon eyes? Considering led strip for turn signal but maybe not that either.
