Haven't seen any talk about Chinaman Gulch--looks like it should be Saturday...

Is this one still on? Traildamage makes it sound pretty hairy--do I want to take the old 60? Can I bypass the scary stuff if I decide to be a big baby?

Hmm..... Chinamans might be a little much for your wagon, but it's been a few years for me.

I would love to do this trail again but it looks like I'm replacing a clutch on saturday.

I think you should leave the 60 out of chinaman's. It needs a little more altitude first.

So how much altitude is enough? Can my 80 make it without bending metal?

Altitude is not a huge deal if you have sliders, and the lockers to drag your sliders over the rocks. There is a tricky V-notch kinda thing in the first 1/8 mile of the trail, You have to really watch your passenger side rocker. Once you get through that, the rest of the trail is as hard or easy as you want to make it.

I don't think I will make this one, I don't have a steering stabilizer on my 4runner yet, and the more I think about it, the less I want to drive that far, and I won't take my red truck on China gulch...that should tell you something.
