Interesting. I wonder where they got that information. I looked on the ColoradoFourWheelers.org site and there is no mention of anything. That is their adopted trail, they are doing a clean up this Saturday, and they installed a permanent gate on the north side entrance in July. No mention of any closures.

I would think the FS would have some type of public process before closing a road.

It is very sad how badly the camping area at the river is being abused. There are a lot of hacked up/ shot up trees down there now. The Forest Service needs to get the shooters under control, they're tearing up and littering up everything. I wish they would just open the range back up on Rampart, I don't really care if they shoot each other...

Well I asked to find out for sure if what they say is true but if stay the trail is involved I am betting it is. The fj cruisers just adopted this trail a few months ago. I believe there was a list to pick from for the trails and that's what they decided on. I just assumed there was no one else who already had adopted it.

I guess there has been heated discussions between the fj club and the other about that trail. The fj club is apparently the rightful adopty I guess. They have been in contact with the forest service and state and if something doesn't get done it going to be shut down. It's only what I have read but don't take my word on it. I am going to see if I can get out there but as of now I doubt it. Luke was right, once it made it in the book its gone to heck.

Put the Rocks Back in place and keep out the Stockers.. The FS messed this up when they tore out the rocks

Id Love it if they could somehow enforce the shooters, they have destoryed so much in the past few years!

Hey Folks, The Stay The Trail Ambassadors going to be involved in this clean-up and stewardship run. We went out to this system a few weeks back with volunteers and tackled what we could. There is much more that needs to get done, hence why we are going back. The goal is to build larger slash and brush piles to block user-created routes off the trail and install carsonite (fiberglass) signs where needed.
