I am in the unfortunate position of having china made locking hubs on the front of my 70. A copy of AISIN in other words.

Anyone any experience with these?

My originals are shot so need to repair.

Get rid of them NOW! :D
Have only seen them on a 1KZ SASd surf and it blew them to bits!
He bought them as he couldnt get any Aisin ones at the time. Now has Aisin ones. :D Not worth the $$$

Ok thanks for the info.

They have to stay on for now anyway.

No worries, he blew both in one weekend. Are you not able to get new ones were you are? there very easy to pickup second hand here in NZ.

New one have to order and used have to go and search.

However, luckily a friend has a set from a crashed landcruiser, so will be putting them on in a few days.

Relieved!!

Went round to a friends workshop last Sunday night.

We dismantled one of the manual hubs mechanisms by removing the circlip and letting the insides come out.

The culprit was a 5mm wide ring was quite worn and grooved. Not aware of any spares for these.

While i was away this week the guy machined two new rings. They are ready now and all at just material cost 50rm which is 15USD for both locks.
