These days, many soccer moms drive crossovers and SUVs. The Sienna could make an excellent overland vehicle, 3" lift with some custom King Shocks, 30 - 31" tires, transmission w/ 4.45 axle ratio from the RX350/Highlander, large trans cooler, skids, body mounted sliders, some nice discreet bumpers w/ a winch... I'd roll in one.

I'm not sure where the minivan stigma came from, but it's hilarious for me to watch adults and kids fight with suv doors, trying to get kids and car seats in and out in parking lots in a desperate attempt to seem "cool" (whatever that even means)... In front of total strangers.

When we are rolling 5-6 people deep we always take the Sienna over the LC if possible. If we had to choose only one vehicle between the two, it would not be an easy choice...

Sienna TRD Pro package would definitely be a hit. Hell, just give us a tow package. Adding the AHC suspension from the LX570 along with some "light off road" capability would make it the only vehicle pretty much anyone would need! I can dream I guess. Slee, are you reading this? Pimp my Sienna lol.

Agree, we only take the LC over the Sienna if I expect to need 4wd. That said, I do need a 4wd, and if I only had one the Sienna would have to go!

The majority of our driving is in the city. An LC doesn't make sense for 80% of our driving, but since I can walk to the train to commute we're committed to owning just one car. Then again, if the AWD Sienna had a 5000# tow rating I would've purchased one instead of our 200, and used the $ saved to buy an 80 and mod it.

A tow package would be easy to produce using factory parts. Trans cooler, axle ratio change, heavier suspension... Legally though, I'm not sure 5000 lbs would fly. That V6 would struggle with a full van at 5k.

You are on point with this comment. Had a coworker come by and tell me that he is thinking about getting a "LC". By "LC" he meant a loser cruiser (i.e. a minivan).

For 90% of all driving situations, they are so much easier for a small family. You should see me trying to get my daughter in and out of my 2 door sports car. I have to go in one door to put her and then go in the other door to strap her in. But I'm not selling the 911!!!!
