Finally got my truck dirty last weekend went wheelin and fishing. We caught lots of fish and tested the new CDL switch. When I got back on pavement started hearing a loud metalic clanking coming from the passenger side of the vehicle (kinda freaked the wife out). I pulled over and found that the muffler was pushed over and the u-joint on the rear drive shaft was hitting it. The rubber mount was broken and it looks like a weld on the muffler is cracked. My buddy had a 6 foot length of chain that combined with a bungee cord pulled the exhaust out of the drive train. A new exhaust was not on my list of mods but it looks like might make it to the top that list soon. Or maybe this chain mod just might stay on for a while...:hillbilly:

nice. I had an O2 sensor pop once and I snipped out a piece of the remnants of a fog light wire that the previous owner had left in place. it smelled alittle bit until the insulation burned off....got me home though:flipoff2:

Damn, I think you just solved my problem. Since the weather has been getting warmer I have had the widows open and noticed a noise like you describe. I am going to check that tomorrow.

Buy a couple of the rubber mounts from CruiserDan and take it to a muffler shop. Cost should be less than $50 and you'll be good.
