had mine the next day :flipoff2:

I really should have documented the install..............but it took all of 5 seconds ;)

FIVE seconds ? You must be more mechanically inclined than myself pimp...It took ME a whole FIFTEEN seconds....( then another 20 minutes to sit there and marvel @ my great accomplishment !!)

I put mine in and I like it.. but why is the hole there in the first place ? To access the shifter ?

Where does one find out about little things like this that is available for the LC ?

The hole is where the suspension controls for the LX470 go.

You learn about little things like this in the forum:flipoff2:

it took me longer to remove the old blank then to put in the new pocket - very cool, but kinda small, not a lot of utility, but more than i had before. all in all, worth the $10

Ditto...except the 'yota dealer here in Reno charged me $17...

Hello... I'm brand new to the forum. There's a lot of good stuff in here... back to this center pocket--- I dropped by my local Toyota dealer and asked if there's really a "plastic bin" that would fit in the hole. The guy said there's none. What gives? Please help. Thank you.

PM CDan (our parts source) on this forum or grab the part number (58839-60040 Cover, Console box) and go back to your parts guy with it.

this is one of those obscure tiems nobody has probably even known about or been asked for, so you must go equipped with the part number.

whats odd is the part is in stock in the US...........but what was it really ment to fit or did some 100's come with it?

He needs to be educated by a mudder. Call him with the part number, and tell him since it doesn't exist, you should be able to get it from him for free.

Melchor,

Read the thread and look at the pictures (proof). In the thread, you will find the part #. Order the part online and install it. It takes about 30 seconds to pop the piece out and install the new one.

I use it every day to hold my cell phone. I love it.

I have been ordering Toyota parts online from www.partznet.com (Conicelli Parts Center) for the last 4 years. They have always filled my orders cheaply and quickly. I paid $10.12 for mine. The part # is 58839-60040.

In the future, I'm planning on trying out one of the parts guys who frequent this site.

Melchor, what I have found is that most of the people at the dealers have no idea what they are doing and would rather not spend the time on your $10 question.

Welcome, and enjoy the forum.

(Edit: ok, I didn't read all the responses and the question has already been answered several times:))

Thanks so much for the pocket info. I went into the local dealer where I know a young parts guy, and asked for the part by NUMBER. He had no idea what it was until I ordered it. I used to work in parts and enjoyed finding obscure parts for vehicles. Cell phone fits just right.
