Is there a DIY step by step to remove the center console? I have to replace the emergency brake switch and it seems I would have to remove the entire back of the console to get access. It looks like there are screws on the side of the console, but they are difficult to get to due to the seats. Do I really need to remove the seats to replace this part?

It will be a lot easier with the seats out. They're 4 bolts and a couple wiring connections, not a big deal. Once they are out you'll see the fasteners for the console.

Alternatively you can move the seats all the way back for the front bolts, then all the way up for the rear bolts. It can be done. Not difficult to remove them though.
