Did Toyota offer the CD Changer in the console of the 96 or 97 LC? I am adding a Sub in the back and wanted to know if I could switch the console out with the one from the LC so that I can have a cup holder that can hold more than a can sized drink.

The console mounted changer was Lexus-only.
...and it would be a whole lot easier to find a cup holder large enough for the oversized cups you're drinking from.

Thanks Dan- Let me guess. If I removed the speaker and the grill I can't just put the bucket in there from the LC. Are the dimensions the same or are they completely different? Maybe I could trim it or do a custom job to make it fit. Can I even buy just the bucket?

I can answer that one 
Having owned a LC and a now a LX, I can tell you that the shape of the hole -- if you were to simply remove the speaker grill cover would not be the same as what you have in a LC.
The consoles are also different sizes. The LX console is taller than the LC console. Personally I like this because it fits better for me as an arm rest. (the LC is too low for me to serve that function well). Because of the size difference, the shape of the front of the consoles are also different. So, I don't think you can simply drop the box from the LC console (if it's even a separate part) into the hole from the LX console.
You'd have to go custom. Maybe start with some sheetmetal and some fiberglass...some bondo to shape and smooth... anything's possible with bondo

thanks. I guess I will have to get creative on this one. I like the holders in the back and would like to get those. It's just that i don't sit back there. Go figure. You would think for 55k+ they would have had a better idea. Good thing I didn't buy it new. For what I paid I will deal with it.
The cupholders came from 1-800-SpillFree......I used to sell them many years ago
