I am new to this form. I hope I am posting in the correct spot. Please help me if I need to post in a different location.

I tried searching for this and did not see any other posts on the issue.

The center arm rest which is the lid to the small storage above the cool box is creaking badly in my 2020 LC. It is a plastic on plastic sound and it's loud and constant with any movement or pressure from an arm resting on it. I tried ignoring it, but is persistent.

When the top lid is open and the cool box lid is closed, I can not replicate the sound. So to me this means that it is not coming from the lower cool box lid or the hinges. I cut up a bike tire inner tube and tried placing a small piece where the latch sites and then closed it. That did not make a difference. I took a larger piece of the inner tube (1 inch by 3 inches) and placed it in different spots between the cool box lid and the arm rest lid, closed the arm rest lid, and the noise persists. I can not nail down where it is coming from.

Has anyone else had this issue and solved it?

Does anyone know the part number for this top lid portion? Im tempted to just replace it if I can not find the issue.

No noise on mine, but if you want to disassemble the lid, good info is in this thread.

Thank you. Ill try taking it apart as much as I can, but I don't think it is functioning incorrectly. I think I need to find where there might be a contact point when closed and do something to minimize it. Ill check the hinges though, maybe they are bent, but I don't see evidence of that.

When you take the top lid off, I bet it will be obvious where it’s making the noise. Could just be a loose screw.
