Background:
Since I have owned the rig (~ 2 years) the CDL has never engaged. I did some low hanging options, like the ball switch, and cycling it 50 times. Nothing. Heard the clicks, but never engaged or showed the dash light.
Last week the output seals on the case had to be replaced, so I had my shop do the work.
When he had the case apart (and also removed my seized VC), I asked him to troubleshoot and get it all working again.
He called to tell me the timing in the case was off. And the CDL would not engage, as the gears were not lining up to permit it. He adjusted the timing and now, we have a dash light and good CDL function!
Just sharing for those that may be in the same boat.
