You can now get AiNet-based interfaces for Ipod's to work with higher end alpine head's.

A buddy just installed it with XM in his truck, pretty slick. You just plug in the ipod, leave it in the center console or somewhere out of site, and control the ipod through the head unuit. (must make playlists-does not show names of files)

Do you have to be a part of the BORG continuum to sit in the passenger seat?????

j/k

hehe nope! The nice thing about RAM mounts are you can get just about any configuration you could want- and most are in packages that knock down the price. Everything removes with one big nob at the base when I want the front cab completely empty. When I have a friend along that knows how to navigate, they get the screen all to themselves and I get to look at the scenery while they tell me when turns are coming. When I have a passenger along that wants to see the maps as we go (it gets kind of addicting to passengers for some reason), I can adust the arms to move it back under the rear-view mirror so we can both see what's going on.

The cables *are* a little sloppy at the moment, and I tend to drift into function over form. ;)
