So it seems I can arrest him under the citizen's arrest clause -
Lets see how that scenario might play out in Canada-- its 2:30 am, I am outside, alone, its cold, I am in my pajamas with no Taser, no pepper spray, no handgun (all prohibited or highly restricted in Canada), no bullet proof vest, no boots on, but I do have my warm slippers on.
- so how do I arrest and physically detain an career burglar from running away, without fisticuffs for 20 minutes until the police swing by ???
-I have concluded the police are hoping residents don't get involved so the scumbag gets away which minimizes their workload and that of the court system (my experience in 4 of the 5 times I have been robbed - nothing happens - nothing gets returned).
-what pack of 'ivory tower' morons in Ottawa dreams up this legislation of allowing a citizen's arrest when most citizens are unarmed in their pajamas, without thinking it through or at least consulting with those affected people.
- we should export a few thousands Westcoast addicts and crackheads to Ottawa and wait till the legislators are repeatably victimized.
- we could get rid of most of this time-consuming drug related property crime committed by addicts by giving out free drugs - register all of them.
- the drug gangs would be out of business
- the broad daylight executions in Vancouver might decline
- this could be much cheaper than the societal costs to residents, police and judiciary of this completely retarded system we have now.
