I rebuilt a Aisan 2bbl carburetor and I believe I need to adjust it properly. I am posting some pictures of the carburetor and all of the adjustment screws. If someone knows the proper name for each screw and what the screws purpose is please let me know. I am having a hard time determining which screw is which using my Haynes manual. I know the brass one on the base is the idle adjusting screw.

Thanks,
Drew

Green = throttle positioner screw. Remove & discard
Black = hi-idle screw. Adjust so idle speed goes up to around 1800RPm w/ choke knob pulled on warm engine.
Red = idle speed screw. Set to user preference, usu in the 500-700RPM range when warm.
Yellow= idle mix screw. Set 4 turns out for inital running, then screw in til RPM starts to drop, then back out til idle reaches highest speed.

If the carburetor is adjusted improperly could that explain why the engine dies whenever the slightest amount of throttle is applied.

Could the accelerator pump stroke be the problem ?

Is there a specific order that I need to adjust the adjustment screws in ?

Thanks,
Drew

Yes.

Possibly

Yes, adjust the idle mix first, then readjust idle speed, then recheck mix, then final set idle speed.

Set hi idle after other adjustments.

The guy that posted right above you sells them.
Thanks for the referral, but Kurt at Cruiseroutiftters has the best deal on Japanese made carb kits for F engine carbs.

would you mind explaining why? thank you for all the helpful information.
Because it is linked to the choke breaker. Originally, the computer controlled vac signal to the CB and thereby controlled the TP. Since the computers are all dead and discarded now, it makes sense to get the TP out of there. It may be applying throttle when you don't want it to.

Good thread..
