Hello i bought my son an 86 Toyota pickup to drive. rats got into it and it set for a year or so. we have it running but rough. barley idles cold then after warm up seems to run and drive strong till about 40 mph then it starts to backfire and loose power. i searched the FAQ and saw that it could be a leaking diaphragm. i'm looking for someone to rebuild the carb and was wondering who's the guy in this section. Thanks fellas
P.S. i will post some pics tomorrow sorry i didn't think ahead on that ;)

Well, if it has sat for that long the jets are probably clogged, the power valve is probably stuck as well as the power piston. Not a bad idea to refresh the diaphragms as well. Make sure the float is adjusted and floats. The factory service manual is a great way to learn as it's step by step. These are great carbs IMO.

Another good thing to always check on a carb'd 22R is for vacuum leaks. Sometimes they come from intake manifold gaskets, cracked vacuum lines both rubber or the metal lines.
