The following CLC members are scheduled to Caravan to the Crawl:
Barry H.
Jeff D.
William G.
Lash L.

Tentative plans are to head out on Thursday mid to late afternoon from somewhere on Lakeland Dr.

The route is tentatively:
Lakeland Dr (25) to Louisville 4-lane
14 across the state line 2-lane
17 to Carrolton 2-lane
86 to Gordo 2-lane
82 to Tuscaloosa 4-lane
20 to B'ham 4-lane Interstate
65 to GrayRock 4-lane Interstate

I just don't want to be on 20 doing 60 to 65 mph and getting blown off the road by semis doing 80 the whole way. As a percentage, the 2-lane roads will only be around 30% of the trip. Give us your feedback if you have a better route.

I will have the following spares in my 40:
Fuel Pump
Water Pump/Pulleys/Fan Clutch combo
Plug Wires
Assorted Fluids
Engine and Chassis Factory Service Manuals

I will also have a couple gallons of water and gas

It would be great if everyone had working CBs to chat on the trip and alert others to any issues. I will probably use it most to ask for another pee-break!

Post up if you are with us!

I doubt I'll be able to leave thursday. I have to teach a 3hr class on th night. I'll be doing well to leave early on friday. Sorry if I gave the impression I was leaving thursday. Wasn't my intention.

No, no, no

Too late to back out now. Find a substitute and lets roll.

My dad plays a little banjo and 4-string gee-tar. I'll check with him to see if he can fill in for you.

Hey I have a extra new CB if somebody need one for sale $20.00

You will still need to buy a antenna.

Let me know.

Deb and I are leaving at 8:00 am on Thursday.

Barry put in a copy of Woodstock for your class to watch, that movie is nearly 3 hours and leave with the caravan.

Can't wait

hey guys,i live in Tuscaloosa (yes, i know the wabbit:confused::doh:) and am trying to get a truck together to make the ride. i have an idea for your route. to save some confusion, head to brooksville and take sr 388 to pickensville, this will turn into hyw 86 once you get into alabama and run you straight into carrollton and ultimately to hwy 82. also, when you get into northport (just west of tuscaloosa) at the 1st redlight take a right onto the toll road and spend the $1.25 and save yourselves a bunch of redlights!;) with some long weekends (and an insane amount of luck) i hope to have atleast one of my trucks ready by october and we'll see ya there. btw if you have any questions,,,i'm from pickens co,al,,,, or want to tell me to mind my own :censor: business, fell free to comment!! later

Thanks for the suggestion Ernie.

I will take another look at the atlas and consult MapQuest.

Hope to see you at GrayRock.
