Hey All,
I am looking at adding a new LX700h OT to my family. I currently have a 99 LC 100 and a 24 Ineos Grenadier. I am ditching the Ineos and am looking at the LX700h for a replacement. Both of my current vehicles are pretty uncomfortable with the rear facing car seat installed in the rear seat. The Grenadier is a joke with the passenger sitting in the dash and the 100 Series is better, but not by much.

How is the comfort of the front passenger when a rear facing carseat is installed behind them? I haven't been able to find any real info on this with the only review being from a woman who is 5' 2" which is not comparable to my wife who is 5' 9'.

I am not really interested in the new Sequoia as it is GIANT and the rear storage area is a just unbearable with the shelf solution they implemented.

Thanks in advance!

My wife is also 5'9. We also just bought a car seat and put it in the second row. She seems to be ok with it. I'll take some pictures when I get the chance.

Fyi, we've been ok with it, but if you don't like the shelf on the sequoia you probably don't like the LX shelf either.

That would be great! We are looking at a 2 row. We hated the 3rd row shelf. Thanks for the input.

If you already don’t like the room in the 100, you won’t like it in the 700H. They extended the hood and shortened the interior in the new generation.

The 200/570 is the one that gives you the most room since you can slide the 2nd row back to give yourself a few more inches. They abandoned that in the 700H due to the placement of the battery (and the 600 also got the removal with the future planning for the 700’s battery on the platform).

I have a rear seat in the 200 and 570, and there’s plenty of room where the front seat isn’t really needing to be pushed forward. 6’ 2” and I can comfortably sit in the passenger seat with the rear facing car seat in the back. That is largely due to having the 2nd row slid all the way back.

Thats unfortunate. I was looking at 200s but I cant wrap my head around paying 100k for a 5+ year old car. The used market is wild right now for those.

There’s a reason why they are going for crazy prices. 🙂

The sweet spot is finding a 2016-2019 pre-pandemic one with no rust. They can be found for 45-65k. Mileage is somewhat important, but good service records and no rust are the most important.

We are looking at a 2 row.
Smart. My kid is grown up, but even if he was not, I would never settle for the 3-row solution in the LX hybrid. If I really wanted an LX and needed a 3-row, I would go with the 600. That said, it is true the 300 series platform is less roomy than the 200. On the other hand, the tech is light years ahead and, as much as I venerate the might V8, the V6 Hybrid leaves the V8 in the dust without so much as a light touch in the gas pedal. Choices.

If were you, I would just go to a dealer with the wife and your car seat and try it to get her verdict.

Please find attached a 5'9" wife and a back facing child seat.

Car seats were my why I went from a 200 to a GMC sierra…. Can’t beat a domestic for 2nd row room.

we have 3 and did extended rear facing. I'm 5'10 and kept the car seat behind my seat. You could also put it in the middle of the second row if you needed extra room. We now have 3 boosters (2 in 2nd row, 1 in 3rd row)

The reality is that rear facing sucks in every vehicle short of a suburban.

Since others are offering opinions.....Second Gen Sequoia is the best money I've ever spent. I was even disappointed with rear facing car seat in 200 and 570.

Domestic SUV/Truck 2nd row space for rear facing car seats w/ Toyota reliability. With a proper lift and tires they aren't as ugly either.
