I just ate my tuna sandwich. Last night when I was mixing up the tuna salad I spotted a jar of capers next to the relish so I used them instead of my typical sweet relish. It made a dam fine tuna salad.

What do you use capers for?

love em. I use a bunch of them to make a really good putannesca sauce with sun dried tomatos, olives bacon etc. I also love throwing them in things like you did.

Chukar Piccata (I guess you could use chicken or veal in a pinch ;p); Tonnato Sauce; in a marinara sauce to twist things up a bit; and I like the large caper berries on stem in a martini.

Throw them in making a mixed olive tapenade. Atop smoked salmon, cream cheese and minced red onion. 2x on the chicken picata.

was in a small old restaurant in the mountains in SE Spain some years back. They had capers the size of olives. Likely local goodies. Excellent as munchies!

I had them left over from Veal Piccata.
