I'm in the middle of replacing the AC Compressor and as someone suggested, it would be a good time to replace the Desiccant Sack however I can't pull it down from the tube.

Seems silly, but anyone have it stuck?

I've used a wire from a coat hanger with a hook on the end to slip past it and pull down but it only straightens the hook. Used a flat screwdriver that I have with a 90 degree bent tip but it won't budge down. I've gotten narrow pliers on it but nothing. I can't even rip the sack to try and pull it out in pieces.

I can't see, but is there a way to push it down from the top?

Found this thread so I'm happy I'm not the only one:

Got it out using the suggestion in the linked thread.

All of the beads settle and build up at the bottom and it won't pull past the interior tube lip that's there for the filter. I kept pushing up on it and then pulling with a twisting motion and it finally shifted the beads enough for it to come out.

Did your compressor grenaded it's internals? If it did, I highly suggest replacing the condenser and backflush the lines past the condenser and maybe get a new expansion valve too. Just my @ pennies.
