I had a pair of these highly durable seat covers for my Tacoma. They were well made and the price was reasonable. The material I choose was the Endura, which is just like Codura, and is used to make backpacks and such items.

They offer custom fitted seat covers for the Land Cruiser. If my leather goes to hell, I'll get these...

Calamaridog: Has the Endura fabric had any negative effect on the leather itself? I was wondering if the Endura fabric might be somewhat abrasive especially on the thin Toyota leather finish in the LC...

They're probably like finding a new LC without nav. Theoretically they exist, but...

Funny, my dad's been looking for a 100 for about a year now, and it seemed like every low mileage one he came across didn't have navigation. Never came across one with cloth though.

spressomon, I used the seat covers on my cloth Tacoma seats so I don't know. They had a backing, like Arya said, so I doubt it.

I bought sheepskins for my 100. They are the kind that allow the side impact air-bags to operate. Pretty comfy and don't look too bad.

I bought them because I take a big dog with me everywhere I go. The seats on my 80 held up pretty well without any cover - but they started to look pretty grungy before I got rid of it.

1999 With Cloth - I owned a 99 no sunroof no third seat cloth LC that I sold 2 years ago with 60k It now lives in Redwood City California and doing fine. I liked the cloth much better than leather - it felt great and looked new after having 2 kids and a dog slide all over them. The LC was out of the Gulf States region (Texas) I was at the port several times in both 98 and 99 and saw several LCs with cloth. The port (GST) would CUT the cloth ones off and install Leather. Very few got out of the port with Cloth unless the dealer ordered it that way. I tried to get a set of cloth "Take offs" from the port to keep as a back up but was told to save time the port CUTS them off and they can't be reused.

My new 100 series has cloth, I actually wanted cloth this time as leather was always too hot & sticky in Australia's summer weather.

I ended up putting sheepskin covers on to avoid it, though that sort of defeats the purpose of spending all of that money on leather...then go & cover it up....

The first time I visited Sydney, we rented a car. They handed me the keys and said the car is right over there. I hopped in only to find the steering wheel on the other side! After switching spots, I drove out of the airport trying to signal left/right but rather than signalling, I would hit the windshield wiper lever since that is on the left side of the steering column. Making left turns was really awkward. I had to pull over after 15 minutes just to collect myself. Only after three days, would say I was comfortable driving. For me, breaking habits was much more difficult than learning to drive for the first time.

Sydney is a beautiful city. The women are hot, nice weather and great seafood!

As for cloth seats, typically, I like cloth on sports cars cuz you don't slide around as much. But for the cruiser, the leather looks nicer and is more luxurious. I'm digging the new Alcantara cloth on newer cars.

I love living in Sydney,

I have just come home from work, it's 2:20am and I have just returned from the city of Sydney.

My drive home consisted of going over the Anzac bridge, past Darling Harbour and the Opera House, over the Harbour Bridge and along the new M2 hills Motorway to my home in the Hills District.

It never ceases to amaze me the beauty of our great city. I love it!

It's the middle of winter, and the nights are a bit chilly at 10 degrees Celsius, but the days are 22-25 degrees Celsius without a cloud in the sky.

Bloody beaudy mate. We were actually swimming only 2 weeks ago...where else in the world can you swim in your own pool near the winter season....

Ok, I admit, it's solar heated, but that doesn't count...

This is my new place which I am wrapped in

Aw Geez,

I'm sorry for the hijack, I just get a little carried away sometimes.....

I blame the kids...

I intend living long enough to become incontinent in their house....

LOL :) That's good stuff! I would be the same way, I doubt I would've made it 15 minutes before I was running someone off the road.

I agree about Sydney, I'm dying to vacation there. My wife and I are talking about going to Australia, but I think the tour of Italy is going to be our next big trip.

As far as leather goes, I'm indifferent. Both of my previous Rovers were cloth and they were definitely cooler in the heat. But you're right, the leather does look nicer. Now, my Mom's Lincoln LS has it all. It has leather seats that are cooled as well as heated. Surprisingly, that car has really held up well over the last 3 years.
