Camping spots near Renfrew to Lizard lake area....

Anyone have a sweet camping spot they'd care to share? Near a creek or river would be nice. I know there is like One place to camp along Gordon Main next to the river and bugger all else so this time I thought I try some FSR off the main drag. Any suggestions appreciated.

Just so you know, that campsite is getting better every year. I was there last weekend, and it looked like some guys dug a hole with steps going into it for what looks to be a redneck hottub.

Plust someone is building a nice stone wall in the campsite too

Ya I was there last year.... Gordon Main was closed just upstream so there was very little traffic and 30 degree heat. It was the best place to camp by far.... but that's the thing, If someone is already there the other options are non existent (beach front anyway)

I've been google earth'n it a bit. Seems to be a couple options its just hard to see the cliffs, drop offs and canyons from a grainy satellite image.

I've always found it to be pretty slim for options up Gordon main if you want a spot that is remotely interesting haha

If you don't mind a spot on a creek, I remember seeing a really nice little camping spot where you could pull in right beside Kuitsche Creek just before Port Renfrew. I always meant to go back and camp there and never did. It's down on the left from the logging road somewhere in the red circles I drew. Worst case if it doesn't look good or it's busy with logging you can just keep on trucking to Port Renfrew. Not much time lost.

So where did you end up Cam? (assuming you went this last weekend....?)

I had a commitment Sat night so I took off Friday from work and headed up Friday day and came back Sat. quick trip, nothing crazy but it was nice to get away.
We went to the San Juan Campsite. No fees as it is pre season and only one other group there. It was OK, would be a lot better in the heat of summer having that river right there. Worth a revisit for sure.

I highly doubt the tent was Steve's......Just in the frame by chance. The lack of vomit under the truck tells me the picture was taken on the first day.
