Dear BRC Action Alert Subscriber,

The Sierra National Forest, located in central California, has issued a Final Environmental Impact Statement (FEIS) and Record of Decision (ROD) on the Sierra National Forest Travel Management Plan.

Copies of the FEIS, ROD and associated maps are available on CD or printed (limited copies) by sending a request to: sierra.route@fs.fed.us. If you are requesting a copy, please make sure to enclose your mailing address. The FEIS, ROD and associated maps and documents are also available on the Sierra National Forest website at: www.fs.fed.us/r5/sierra/projects/ohv/index.shtml

The Forest Service (FS) will be holding three public workshops and a webinar for anyone interested in learning more about the decision. (See schedule below for dates and locations.)

Written appeals must be submitted during the 45-day appeal period which began on May 10, 2010, and ends June 23, 2010.

Paper appeals must be submitted to:

Appeals may be submitted by FAX (707) 562-9091 or by hand-delivery to the Regional Office, at the address shown above, during normal business hours (Monday-Friday 8:00am to 4:00pm), excluding federal holidays.

Electronic appeals must be submitted to:
appeals-pacificsouthwest-regional-office@fs.fed.us

Electronic appeals must be submitted and readable in plain text (.txt), Microsoft Word (.doc) or rich text (.rtf) formats. Please put "Sierra Motorized Travel Management" in the subject line.

For electronically mailed appeals, the sender should normally receive an automated electronic acknowledgment from the agency as confirmation of receipt. If the sender does not receive an automated acknowledgment of the receipt of the appeal, it is the sender's responsibility to ensure timely receipt by other means [36 CFR 215.6(a)(4)(iii)].
