I have two 1HDT engines and one A442F transmission that I am considering selling.

Price: $9,500 USD for everything
Shipping: not Included, Can personally drive parts over the Montana Border to lower shipping cost

It is my Strong preference to sell everything as a package and I absolutely will not sell parts / accessories off of these engines or transmission separately.

Below is a detailed description of both engines, how they were acquired, and their condition.

In 2016, I purchased a pair of HDJ81 Land Cruisers that had originally been imported in 2007 by the same owner — a “his and hers” set for him and his wife. My plan at the time was to complete a diesel swap, but in 2017 I started a business that has since taken up most of my time and focus. As a result, the project never moved forward.

Engine A

  • From a 1990 HDJ81
  • 321,738 km
  • Not running at time of purchase
  • Diagnosed with one dead cylinder (#6, if memory serves)
  • All other cylinders showed very good compression when tested

Engine B + A442F Transmission

  • From a 1991 HDJ81
  • 175,006 km
  • Was a runner
  • Previously parked due to an injection pump failure (around 2010)

The previous owner parked Cruiser B after the injection pump failed and used it as a parts vehicle for Cruiser A. His circumstances had changed significantly since importing the trucks, and repairing it (although baffling to me) was not a priority to him

Once I had both vehicles home, I removed the injection pump from Cruiser A and installed it on Cruiser B. After priming the system and turning it over by hand to confirm movement, the engine fired immediately once fuel reached the injectors. Compression on this motor was excellent (I don’t recall the exact numbers, but I remember being very impressed).

I then began disassembling both trucks, selling off parts I didn’t need. My plan for Engine B was to freshen it up with new gaskets before the swap. I removed the accessories and pulled the head — and that same week I landed my first major contract for my new business. Since then, the engine has remained partially disassembled and covered in my shop. I have had to put allot of thought into weather or not I should sell my "collection" but ultimately having these parts sitting around and not in the hands of another enthusiast is a waste.

I can provide specific pictures upon request from genuinely interested parties.

This is interesting……
So, you have all “B” accessories included on the sale ? Wire harness and air filter housing assembly ?

I am literally on the fence between a 5.9 24 valve Cummins or the 1HD-T with a manual.
This sounds like a good deal for the right person, however this might not be cost effective for me as I am in NY

Yes I have all the accessories, wiering and air box related parts for both engines. All the parts for B are tucked away in boxes but everything is there
