CB is usually the way we go and typically ch 13. Smoke signals work also. Speaking of which we have plenty of room for firewood so don't worry about that.

so i got the truck back on the road. trying to get a handle on the cooling system health. if i can get it checked out, there is a slight chance i might try to make it saturday morning... fingers crossed.

I'll keep an ear out on HDC-2 and on the local repeater, what ever that maybe. I think Caballo peak has a repeater, if not Las Cruces has one too.

Caballo ML Rptr is 147.260+, Tone=100Hz. Remind me what HDC-2 is.
 
It was a good time. The weather was nice and warm but the wind did pick up on Sat afternoon though. More writeups and pics are at: Caballo Peak New Mexico 3-16 and camping - FSB Forums We finally found the Caballo trail late on Saturday so we need to return and do the actual trail next time. The FSB folks are good bunch of dudes. Standing next to a FSB makes my 80 look rather slim!!
 
It was fun. The camping was good and OH BOY is that 80 of Ali's setup. Somewhere in there he is hiding the kitchen sink.

I talked to a freind from T or C this morning and he said to let him know next time and he will go with us. Nothing like a little local help to keep us on the right track.

Want to try this again on the 27th of October, we can plan on camping Friday night, Saturday night or both?
