Hi everyone! first post here, bought our 2016 GX460 a little over a year ago and we've been loving it so far. We work in the great Canadian north and our GX has been powering through forest roads and heavy snow to get to work, it's been nothing short of amazing.

Only issue we've had has been the dreaded KDSS light that appeared. Was informed that the accumulator assembly needed to be replaced. Bought one off Partsouq and got it installed by a reputable mechanic then brought to Lexus to plug in and bleed the lines (Lexus refused to install my own parts and basically wanted to charge me 4000$ only for the part here in Canada). Lexus ended up charging me around 1500$ to bleed and calibrate the system, and I got the part for 1500$ off partsouq so all and all cheaper than what the part alone would have cost and figured id give it a go to try and fix it. Worse case scenario, I could always just delete the KDSS and sell the accumulator back on eBay to a lucky person who'd get a deal on the almost new part.

Couple of months after the install and bleed, I am not getting a C1851 code and intermittent KDSS light. I am now wondering if it is worth returning to Lexus for diagnosis / fix or if I should just pull out the accumulator and do a KDSS delete. Also wondering how simple it could be to try and fix it myself vs giving up. I am pretty handy and have more than enough time on my hands to fix it, but not sure if it is worth it.

Any suggestions on what could be done and what I should be checking for in this situation? I've read some other posts regarding this issue and they've left me more discouraged than anything else haha.

Thanks in advance for all your help and wisdom!

If you're mechanic is certified, he/she should have TechStream and be able to trouble shoot for you also.

Are you seeing any KDSS fluid leakage anywhere? I wonder if pressurization was borderline low?
Put it on a lift and checked all the lines, not seeing any leaks and everything seems to be holding on pretty well. wondering if pressurization issue as its really intermittent and does not seem to be getting worse in any way. Also seems to be affected by temperature, had a super warm day here this week and light did not turn on all day.

I have techstream myself and that's how I was able to fetch the codes. I saw in another forum they also suggested to cycle the solenoids so will try that as well!
