Finished degreasing and rinsing the engine bay (negative battery terminal disconnected during and while drying) and once connected again I started it up with no issues.

The check engine light was on so I checked the code and it was C1241.

Possible meaning from engine code:
  • Low Battery Charge
  • Faulty Battery
  • Faulty Charging System
  • Power source circuit
Later that evening when starting up (happens twice), there was a slight delay when turning the ignition and the starter turning. After those two times, it was fine the next couple (after sitting and after driving).

Anyone experience this? It’s been pretty hot and I drove it two trips each 30 miles on the freeway so everything should be nice and dry now.

Doesn’t seem like a charging issue. (1 mo old alternator and battery).

Anyone have any ideas before I start disconnecting/cleaning/reconnecting every plug in the engine compartment?

Thanks in advance!

i would check the battery cables first. then clean and grease battery terminals.
check around for loss ground cables, might have loosen while cleaning.

What type of grease?
Will do first thing in the morning.

I cleaned up the terminal and clamp and the CEL went away!

Started crapped out though...that was a pain to replace.

I have an OBD reader and a laptop for tech stream. They both work hand in hand.
