What’s the highest mileage 200 series you’d consider buying? I’m looking at a white southern owned vehicle no rust and good service records 2011 with 265k miles. He’s asking $19,900 with reasonable offers considered. Said I can take it for a PPI. Last coolant change was 219k miles. No accidents and he’s the second owner. Here’s a link. Thanks guys!

Also depends on how you're going to use it. My 200 is a weekend warrior with occasional road trips, so low mileage was not really a factor in my purchase. If you're looking for a DD to pile a lot of miles on, you might shoot for lower mileage. Although maintenance history and mechanical/rust condition is a much bigger factor for me than mileage.

I wouldn't worry about 219k. I wouldn't really consider any cruiser "high mileage" until about 275k.

It’s sitting at 265k. Do you think $19,900 is too much for that many miles?

Sorry, I misread. For my area, that would still be considered a good price. Not sure about Florida.

I bought an 80 Series with 216K about 14 years ago. I love it, and it's been trouble free. It has 268k on it now. I've also done a ton of maintenance on it. On my next Cruiser, I plan to buy one with closer to 100K miles, because I plan a lot more long trips and towing. YMMV, but I don't think lots of miles (less than 300K) is an issue unless the maintenance is trash or you're going to add 300K. For me, I don't want to buy another Cruiser at 225 or 250K, spend a bunch of time and money on it, and five years later have a Cruiser with well over 300K miles. I also keep vehicles 10+ years. That's my two cents.

It really really really depends on the maintenance history. I just dropped $5000 on new front upper control arms, inner tie rods, rear upper control arms, new panhard rod, new rear lower control arms, a cooling drip, etc. I still have a timing chain cover leak but it’s a $3k job. I’m at 192k miles and a lot of suspension rubber on my 2013 is just getting stiff and cracking. I drive my truck pretty hard but also at 200k miles a full suspension refresh isn’t unexpected.

I would get the PPI and make an offer if ok. You won’t really know how well it’s been cared for until you get it to a good mechanic. Double check the history to make sure it’s not been flooded or in a major accident. And I assume the terrible center display screen image is from bad lighting for the photo. If not, that’s an expensive R&R job.
