I looked at a BJ73 near me today. There is a toggle switch next to steering column. It didn't seem to do anything. I was hoping it was an electronic locker but I could not tell. Dealer would not let me shift into 4 LO which was weird.

The lever next to the gear stick ? Does this truck have a PTO winch. If the dealer pulled it back into to low range and drove around the car park they may have had a hard time getting it back out. The fix is to reverse backwards to get it out of low range when it winds up on hard ground.

It does have a PTO winch. That explains why they did not want me to try the 4 Lo.
You're welcome to come drive my 74 before making a purchase. I've never driven a 73 but all research led to the turbo'd 74 and I'm very happy with it. Wouldn't be happy with any less power.
