Bushings for rear control arms

I called Cruiser Dan today and he said bushing by themselves could not be purchased for the 100 lower rear control arms. The 80 series bushing can be bought by themselves. Does anyone know if the bushings are the same size?

I'd like to sleeve my control arms and put in new bushings.

The bushing and bushing holder look to be same size(the best I could measure on the vehicles at night ). The 80 bushings have larger bolts, drilling and new bolts will fix that. Seeing how you want to sleeve the 100 arms just get a used set off an 80 with hardware and sleeve away.

What is "Sleeving" the control arm?

A friend of mine that does rockcrawling suggested sleeving the control arms in Chromoly. I don't know all the specs of the chromoly, but he said it really strengthens them. Sleeving means just adding (welding) a layer of another pipe over the stock arms...

Sounds like a good idea..

Here is John Shotts' solution to the problem of bent control arms.

This is angle iron tack welded to the control arm and a skid plate welded to the forward mount. He estimated his cost at $40.

Crushed front mount

This weekend I smashed the bracket that connects the control arms to the frame. I see from the previous post that this has caused concern to some in the past. Has anyone had to reconstruct or replace the old mount? If so, how did you do this?
