Hey guys and gals. Starting the process of the rear-bumper build and I want to get my components together BEFORE I start cutting metal:) I have a pretty good idea on the swing arm spindle and latch assemblies, but one of the main items I need a good gauge on is the LED lights themselves.

There are a bazillion options which is great...but there are a bazillion options!!! I'm going with 4" round lamps for the brake, signal, and reverse lights. I could be swayed into some oval brake lamps possibly, but ovals are more cutting:) Hole saw is easier:)

So the challenge is now which brand of light to go with? Obviously something waterproof, so I've been scouring the trailer light reviews and such. But if you all have some first hand experience you'd like to impart upon my quest, I am all ears. I have a little play money in the Paypal and this is what I'd planned to use it on.

Thanks all!

I saw them on a large number of build threads here which is good right? My primary concern is obviously the water-tight aspects and quality therein. I guess worst case if it fails, so long as I replace it with the same size, I can always do that and then let the group know how it went:)

LEDS are hard to kill.
Most LED lamps are 100% sealed. I'm running four LED lamps in my front running lights, and they've held up great.

stick with a major brand like trucklite or grote if you want reliability. superbrightleds.com has a ton of selection, but crap product. i've had to replace most of the bulbs i purchased from them a year ago. oval lights are easy...two small holesaws, then cut inbetween O O. remember that for turn signals, you'll need to change out your flasher for one rated for led.
