The are 2 pieces of plain bar to attach bull bar to frame. My CB mount was at the right side cos the ARB model that i got was made for South America Fj40, Aussie's FJ have CB like your bumper

Thanks that what it looks like the ones on mine are for. They appear to point back to the frame. I guess it would help take some of the leverage away if you hit something on the top bar. Probably more help than the bar running back and attaching to the nerf bar. I would think those would buckle out pretty easy. More for fender protection than anything else.

Thanks Travis. Not really a big deal if it's ARB or not. I have no doubt the recovery eyes were added later. May even be for a towbar. But either way the quality of the welds is not near as nice as the bumper itself. Where the bumper was cut to add the Thomas winch to the cruiser was also far from a quality cut. But not only was the price right these don't come up locally very often.

Definitely the tabs are for a tow bar. They look just like the ones I have welded to my bumper. I think the tow bar is an old con-ferr unit. The spacing between the two tabs looks the same both for each mounting side and the distance between the mounting sides.

If d'animal sees this, he can chime in about the tow bar. I bought it from him. If you want, measure the distance between the inside tabs and then space between each individual tab's center and I'll let you know if they are the same.

That's an interesting winch you've got there... Did you find the wings cast in the aluminum housing? It's about the 2nd or 3rd I've see... The 1st is sitting in my garage. I've been told it's an old aircraft landing gear motor. I'd love to see some pictures of how yours was built/converted.

What do you know about them? Some have said they'd originally have been 24v. Mine was rewired somewhat to power in and out.
