Built red FZJ80 sighting in Kearny Mesa, who?

I saw a red 93 or 94 FZJ80 (had TOYOTA on the grill) in the Kearny Mesa area today. Looked like it had a lift, front & rear bumpers and wasn't a pavement queen. Looked good.

Who is this? Member of this board?

I was driving my green '94.

I saw that same truck about a week ago!

Also, i saw a VERY similar truck to mine (white, tent, bumpers, etc....) the other day in Kearny Mesa and i thought someone stole my rig!

Ha, that's funny. I just got through reading your thread from a few years ago when you were first looking for a cruiser. Everyone said keep holding out for lockers. Looks like you did.

When did you purchase your vehicle? Was it a local purchase? Any plans for mods?

I have a new '94 wood dash kit in cherry wood if you're interested. Having a hard to getting rid of it. I'm willing to barter, or sell cheap.

I got it early this year from the autotrader. It's been very good to me. Right now it's my DD. No mods except the 33's and CDL switch. Eventually I want to get an ARB front bumper, Rear bumper with tire swingout (slee or other), and some MT sliders. It will be awhile though...

I'm actually looking around for a 95-97 with lockers and lower mileage. Maybe even a LX. So I've been keeping an eye on the adds for one. At that point I will sell this one.

Sorry, I don't need the wood trim. I do need a DS front flare if you know where I can find one. Best of luck with that, I've been trying to get rid of my 3rd row seats forever.

There are a few things that need to be fixed. It works fine for now, but I don't want to dump significant money into it. I'll bide my time, and when a nice 95-97 comes along with low miles and a good price, I'll be ready. It very well may be a year or two.

I got such a good deal on this one, that moving to the new one should only be a differential of $2k-$4k.

Plus, I'm not too crazy about the gray interior. I like the tan much better.

Who knows, everything is up in the air right now. That was my plan, but plans change!
