The holy grail of Land Cruiser diesel engines!!!!

This is my personal 1HDFT engine.
I started 5yrs or so ago with a fairly beat down 1HDFT and built it up starting with the crank. I have built it myself, machine work was done by my well trusted machine shop.

This engine received an absolute ton of new OEM parts. This includes a brand new 1HDFTE bare head that is loaded with ALL new parts. It is topped off with a Yanmar 1HDFTE valve cover I had cerakoted. Very few parts not replaced, the crank and block are original.

Block stripped to bare metal and painted with high temp engine paint. New head got painted at the same time. All parts have been painted or powder coated or cerakoted. A few things got ceramic or just vapor honed and cerakote clear. Some new zinc plating as well. All old crusty hardware (nuts, bolts, brackets) have been replaced with new Toyota hardware.

It has a Winks turbo, it’s used but looks nearly new and checks out to be in excellent condition. I have been told this turbo can put out 30psi.

This engine is built for 400hp. It is brand new and never been started. I am not saying it will put out 400hp as is but it is prepped for that much power if that is what you desire.

This 1HD-FT will drop into any Cruiser that has a 1HZ or 1HDT with zero mods, nearly plug and play. It will fit in any other Cruiser from a 40-series to a 100-series. This one is from a 1995 European HDJ80.

You are going to need to tune it yourself once you install it in whatever Cruiser you have. We can install it for you as well!

This is a hard thing to price, I am pricing a used unknown condition 1HDFT at $10k. That is what it costs us to get one into the USA and start a build on. So that is easily what a used engine with hundreds of thousands of kms will cost. So a core of unknown condition running or not 1HDFT cost in today’s market is $10,000+.

I am not selling a core or used engine or any thing like that! I am selling a new 1HD-FT with upgrades, built by me with my two hands!! 🤘😎🤘

Price: $26,500 if we install in your Cruiser, not including install!! 😝
Price: $28,000 if we ship it to you or your shop

Not good to make my heart race this early in the morning! Dang, that is a sweeeet engine. While obviously not for everyone, I think that is a good price.

GLWS!

I added up what it cost to build, that is how I priced it. I think with today’s tariffs it would cost more.

This is drop in ready to go, no wait and no question on condition.

To paraphrase the late, great James Brown, you got to pay the cost to be the boss.

Epic build, Ian.

So $26.5 includes installation? Sounds like a deal :)

No sir!

I did start high on my price but I also have a lowest number. 😋

This is obviously an engine for a “certain” kind of Cruiserhead. I can sit on it awhile so it is really no worries for me.

What may very likely happen is I simply buy a good west coast 80 with a marginal or worse engine and I swap this in and flip it. With a manual 5spd! I got an LX sitting here right now with no engine I could do that with, good rust free Cruiser to start with. Thing is I want to swap a coil pack 1FZ in that with a 5spd manual instead. Ok I am rambling on now. 🤭🤗😵‍💫

I ended up with a 1HD-FTE long block unintentionally and that is what I am replacing it with or I would never sell this, it was to be the “last” engine for the Cruiser it was going in. Hence why I spared not a single coin building it!

Cheers

Only just listed it as sold because I have a Cruiser and deal pending I want to drop the engine into.

If that deal falls through I will relist it.
