Anyone have anything they'd like to add or discuss in this months meeting agenda?
Yes. What happened to Armand's idea of visiting Avery Island? I never heard from him again after he said he'd check with his family about bringing several people at once. Not that I think we could even 'get' several members together
I had thought if he could get permission we could maybe plan for first weekend in May

I hope it works out that would be a nice outing, I hadn't seen anything more since I've been back but thats not saying much its been a whirl wind. I will follow up and add that to the agenda. I'm hoping he makes it

On a side note. Palmetto state park in Abbeville is nice. The short trail
Takes about 15 minutes. Pretty nice. Has a deck where you can check out the swamp. Cabins look cool $120 a night. There are 6 cabins
Camp sites are pretty nice. I remember thinking 20 had the most shade overall. Table and camper spot. There were some in the 50-60/ that had all shade. There are like 90 of them. Overall a nice place..

Still working on it bud, great pics I've wanted to visit Palmetto lets discuss it and possible dates to do it at next weekends meeting and we'll put it on the schedule.

Sorry about having gone missing folks. I've been out of town every weekend for soccer and work has been kicking my a$$. If not for it being Mother's Day, i'd probably be in BR, No, Alexandria, Shreveport or Lafayette watching my daughter play soccer. Fortunately, I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. The State Title for her age group will be played for next weekend in BR. Her team is one of four left. Anyway, I have not yet called my Uncle about going out to Avery Island. He was out of the country when I first floated this idea and since then I've had a lot on my plate. To arrange this so that we can see the WHOLE Island, I absolutely will have to lead the group. As soon as I am available to do that, I'll try to get permission.
