Thanks all.

Drove the Troopy to work and all day. Worked on it a bit and started packing for the Sicily Island ride. Packed up the whole family and went to Ziggy's for lunch as well. All in all ... good day.

Went by Landry's ...he wasn't home :flipoff2:
:D

Sounds like a good day bud, at the boys birthday party all day and again tomorrow then out to eat for my bro's b-day tomorrow night sorry I missed you. Busy weekend. If I don't get to catch you tomorrow lunch on me this week your call :D

I hate the money making scheme of the city with these stupid speed vans, I don't know your take I personally would love to winch one over on its side everytime I pass one. Here is a good site, they have a petition and the email addresses for all the council. members. They're gonna get some hate mail from me. :flipoff2:

Those red light cameras are crooked scheme too, at least in san diego they were. There were lawsuits because on lights with the cameras, the yellow light would be super short and the camera contractor was getting a cut of each ticket. Also, the cameras were placed in intersections that had really high volumes of traffic, not high speed so you'd be sitting in a turn lane with 15-20 other cars and hope you aren't stuck behind someone who is not paying attention.
My mom & sister were t-boned by a guy running a red light so I think something ought to be done about it, but not unfairly screwing the citizens over.

Application for BSLCA

Larry,

Should I mail this application for the association to you, or how do you want me to get it to you? Also, I know that most of you will be at the Sicily Island ride, which I can't make because I'll be out of town, but are there any more lunch meetings or wrench sessions this year?

Thanks,
Eric

Scott,

I see that it is/was your birthday...Happy Birthday. I'm taking good care of the FJ40. Do you want me to give you your old plate back, or just throw it away? I kept it just in case.

E,

First, Landry can answer your question... but the PO box of the club is listed around here somewhere...
BSLCA
P.O. Box 271
Youngsville, LA 70592

We hoped to have had something else in November and December... wrenchin and meeting, wrenching meeting ...or something. Unless Landry knows exactly what we decided... I'd say stay tuned. You're on the email list and it'll get to you .. also check here in the wrenchin and meeting threads.

Last, we'll have a Christmas party for everyone in December we're hoping.. Set as December 15th if I'm not mistaken.

Really last... bend that plate until it breaks... or put it on the 40 and go as fast as you can next to the SafeSpeed van...

Thanks for the birthday wish. ....I wish I had my 40 back... lol.

nah... enjoy it.

Eric, Scott answered above. See my comments. :)

Just rented a Land Cruiser Prado turbo diesel for the ride down to my property in Costa Rica. I cant wait to see my BJ-40 in Golfito, CR. Can you imagine not seeing your cruiser for 3 months! It is killing me!

Or little sister. Slightly wimpy. 2000 cc

It might be an interesting little rig, keep it far far from the highway but I bet it would be like a billy goat if you put some tires and maybe swap some pickup axles under it. Shame about the price though:s

Just another heads up with Man-a-fre. After my dad took off the cheap Chinese man-a-junk springs the guys at Wimberly 4x4 found out that they gave him the wrong size rear springs. Not what he ordered. 2 inches short with extra long shackles(he paid for different set up). I will keep everyone posted on what man a fre decides what to do about their screw up. I hope they are honorable and rectify the problem. Everyone makes mistakes, but do they own up to it? We shall see. It has only cost my dad about $700.00 so far for "install" plus the $1100 junk springs. Time will tell.

Pictures looked cool but is there going to be a Sicily Island trip report?

Well, we couldn't have asked for better weather. Larry and Albert got there early Friday, set up camp and wheeled some and then me and Scott drove in before sunset on Friday and set up our camps. The LA 4x4/AWOL guys showed up shortly after and we all shared some cold brew while the boys kept a good fire going. Temps that night got into the 30s but I think all of us did well in our sleeping setups.

Saturday morning, it warmed up quick and we went to the property to sign waivers and discuss what we were going to do. We followed the main group to go and help cut two new trails they wanted to cut off of one offshoot out on the Southern end of the property. The one to the right that we helped with was a moderate trail that most stock rigs can take. On an upcoming trip, they will cut one off of there for better modified rigs because it drops off into some hairy stuff that stock rigs won't make.

On the other side of the trail, they cut a nice 3 scale trail with some sharp ups and downs. One branch of it runs through an old creek, something that looks kind of like where dinosaurs would roam or something, and the best of the trails, Mr. Twister ran through it with ease. It was really cool.

Then every one headed back to the main trails. I got stuck of course at one point. Then we stopped at that "cliff" and let the boys play and we took pictures.

Then we ate lunch and headed back to St. Mary Falls which was really nice. Then we wheeled over the northern part of the property, through the creek bottom where I got stuck again and then out to the open areas which are really jagged with deep cuts to drive through. Larry got into a little bit of a bind in there and I almost did - again. Luckily Albert was there to spot me and get me out of the bind I was headed in had I followed Larry all the way in.

We did some more scouting, found a nice trail that overlooked the nearby lake and bayou and then headed back to camp to throw the gumbo together and watch LSU beat Ole Miss.

Albert and Scott went on the night ride and saw some awesome wheeling and Albert picked up a few bumps and bruises.

Sunday morning we woke to a steady rainfall so we all just picked up camp and I took off around 8:30.

Sounds like a great time & good weather too. I gotta kick my stuff in gear- I'm getting stuff lined up:D
