I was checking out the 'Vehicles/Trailers for sale' forum & saw an 80 for sale- turns out one of the Mississippi guys is really really sick, been sick since January and now he's having to sell his rig :frown: :frown:
The whole story is HERE and HERE. They have a Paypal fund for him.

Sounds like some really awful stuff to deal with. Best wishes/prayers for a speedy recovery Eric!

Soon... I paid for it four weeks ago. Two were spent in my brother's driveway in TX and two here. One of those I was at Disney. Hoping to get to drive it a bit, clean it up, tune it up and take a few pics.

Hope to start this weekend w/ lubes, axles etc..

I am currently on the road. So far my 80 is running pretty good. I can't take any pics because my phone service doesn't let me download them to my computer. Once again, this thing burns GAS! These trucks will probably be free in about 2 years. LOL.

I am so spoiled. I used to have an 80 for a couple years but it was my wifes rig so I never really drove it much. This is the first time in my life that I have personally EFI, automatic transmission, power windows/locks, cruise control, can talk on the phone while driving and actually hear the other person I am talking to, and take my eyes off of the road for one second without being headed into a ditch or off the road. These are all just normal modern things but to me it feels very strange.

Looking forward to seeing pics of your rig and I hope to have some stuff posted on this one when I get home.

Scott, Landtank has a leg room extention kit for your Japanese/coonass size problem in your new rig. You probably already know but I was just making sure. Did I mention my 80 is a gas hog? LOL. How does yours like the pump?

Thanks so much. I got them in before the rig ever got here. I knew it was gonna be tight. No more worse than the 40 tho. Thanks for thinking of my long a$$.

I spent most of the day w/ the little ones seeing Kung Fu Panda...lol. I did no "real" work. I did manage to put a coat of "Isaac down to the bare metal" polish and then a good coat of wax. That's about all that I've accomplished. Also worked hard on trying to get the dog out of the carpet. Gonna shampoo the carpet AND headliner next!

I've not actually gotten it out and about too much to notice the gas. I'm sure it's bad.. but I don't want to know...lol.

I think I'll clock it AFTER I get everything changed: gear oil, oil, coolant, hoses, new belts, axles etc... lol.

I'll let you know soon as I do.

Hope to shoot a few pix this week.

"Isaac to the bare metal"? Did you buff all of your paint off on a hard radius?

I burned almost a full tank on the way to work and less than 3/4 on the way home. The wind was the same and the route too. ??????? Same speed and traffic as well. I almost feel bad that my boss has to pay for my fuel.:flipoff2:

I will try and post some pics and info on the cruiser tomorrow or Tuesday.

No I meant that I used that good stuff you gave me some time ago that takes EVERYTHING off. Oxidation, wax etc...lol. Then I put some wax back on it. Looks good.
