...about to order new seat covers (front and jump seats). Any opinions on SOR vs Cool Cruisers for quality/price ratio on their covers?

Also, did '78 model year come with grey paint on seat frames as an option, or just the seat covers?

The PO of my 78 had the seats redone with the SOR covers and I really like the quality very heavy and durable material I only wish the person he had do them would have blasted and painted the seat backs and frames before putting them back together  I guess that wouldn't leave me anything to do right.

I don't remember seeing any seat frames in the grey but if you order from Specter ask for Marv he'd be able to tell you. I have the black covers, but originally they were grey with black frames and grey back.

Oh, hell... we've gone to page two....

Someone hear something????

Yeah, Momentum is my friend :)

I am more liekly to show them how it is done with a 180 dollar spool and Aussie in the front.

Look out  that'll be nice.

so does anyone know anyone who can do a cut n turn on a 40 axle locally? can anyone in the club do it?

There is a guy here in Lafayette Brian that did his FJ60 and did a nice job. He has a machine shop and does some nice work. I was planning on taking him the gutted axle and letting him do mine. I wouldn't trust my welding on the tubes.

It pays to help people

I helped a guy get a flat fixed today, drove him to the tire store, loaned him a jack, waited around for him.

He asked if he could give me something for helping him out and I nticed he had a bunch of car parts and stuff in the bed of his truck. asked him what he was doing and he sai he was cleaning out a vacant lot that the previosu owner had junked up with a bunch of old cars and parts.

Said I didnt wAnt any money but I would rather go and pick through and see if I could find anyhtign I could use.

I scored a Camper shell for the Dually :D!!!

When I come home bnext week I am going to start setting it up to be able to camp in when we go wheeling and I tow.

I had been putting off buying one because they don't have the tall style for sale for my body style any more but this one is the raised roof kind and it fits the truck like a glove, even clears my cargo light.

Pics when I come back from offshore!

Wow... good for you bud.

 you're a good guy Josh. You have to measure the situation my friend. Be careful as not all folks are as good hearted these days. Its a sad fact that some folks will take advantage of someones goodwill or help. Sounds like this gentleman was one of those good folks that just needed some help and he found just the right guy to help him. :)

Nice Josh, It's nice to hear a positive story. Great score on the camper top. We also know you hoping to see a Toyota 4x4 as one of his junk car parts in his vacant lot :)

Of course! That or an old f-250 with some dana 60s under it ;).

Great score! Looks like you helped him again by taking the camper shell.

Yep, they where haulling everything metal to the scrap yard to sell. not to much metal on a camper top, plus they where haulling junk with a short bed pickup. the dang camper top would ahve swallowed their bed.:grinpimp:
