Hi guy,
Just a quick question. Can you replace a broken wheel stud on 1992 Prado without opening the diff to take out the axle shafts?

Thanks

Front, yes

Rear, if FF you pull the axle shaft without involving the diff so, yes in that case.
Rear, if SF you can remove the brake shoes and wiggle a new stud in so, yes in that case as well.

I know something about rear broken wheels studs.

damn, that would be scary to look at when you come around the corner. Where your nuts loose? Or just torque them off?

Loose nuts on the wheel spacer, yup. Mark was yelling a me on the radio to stop because I had a broken axle and I kept thinking to myself. "How could he know I have a broken axle? Its a FF."

Thanks for the info. Rear Semi-floating so I guess I will give it a try wiggling it in. Wow Lowenbrau that looks like a nasty one.

fixed it

I finally got around to fixing that broken wheel today. There was tons of room to get the new stud in without even taking the brake shoes off. Thanks for the advice. It helped motivate me to try it.
