Ok...have access to an 87 4Runner that had the front end taken off by a train.

I need some inspiration for a build. I will pretty much have to cut the front clip/frame off below the firewall.

how do you get hit by a train and still have a salvageable truck? IDK use your imagination and look at other peoples trucks and buggies and see what you like and don't like about them.

I did not get hit...but my brother in law did. It was at a crossing which had no gaurds, and thick pines right up until the ballast for the tracks. It caught the front bumper, rolled half turn and got spit out. He was VERY LUCKY. Train also did not sound horns. Bad situation.

anyways...just trying get ideas. I have seen people back-half a truck but not really front'half one. Is it even worth my while is what I am trying to determine.

The only thing I can think of is yank the body and use the ramaining frame for a F-Toy....but then its IFS and all that jazz which means more $$$ just getting an axle under it.

Just talking it out really....

ok i see now. he was incredibly lucky! i would say that you could salvage it but like 2ndGenToyotaFan said pics would help.

I cant imagine that the frame is NOT tweaked.

Gonna use it strictly as a wheelin vehicle? Plan to drive it on the road to and from trails?

The frame may very well be tweaked more than I know. It sits about 120miles from me at this point.

Would more than likely just be a trail rig.

Wish I could post pics now...will be awhile though. :frown:

Get a solid axle for the front...you will like it more!
