Brand New Radiator @Cap Leaking?

Autozone in Cody, Wyoming, to the rescue of the Yellowstone trip with a radiator cap. I bought every kind they had, one of them worked, and that’s the one that’s still on there 5 years later.

Many on this board peddle the OEM kool-aid, and some good comes from it. But if you really want to focus on the original design of Mr. T, then better ditch those 315s, ARB/Slee/etc. bumpers, put the running boards back on, and so forth, THEN you get to sing kumbaya.

Meantime, I’ll go ‘wheeling the 80, thank you very much.

That was interesting. Slightly taller cap?
Years ago, I bought an aftermarket (Champion) radiator for a diffrent vehicle. Turned out the filler neck was slightly deeper. Took a bit to come up with a cap that worked. Same issue as OP. Four warranty radiator replacements later (tube seals leaking) I ditched it and bought a factory. The cap I had worked but was tight. I had the impression it was an aftermarket radiator thing.

Wow. So, all this being said, what should I have used with my CSF radiator? The autozone lever or the toyota suidi spec?
If the one on there a) isn't leaking, and b) is letting coolant flow back and forth from the overflow like it should (you know how that's supposed to work, right? Right??), then leave it.

Get the OEM Kool-aid
I run the CSF radiator what the OEM cap.
Most of the junk from AutoZone is just that JUNK !!
