well i just bought a 2000 Land Cruiser with a 103k miles and love it. both of my sons drive LC one drives a 62 and the other an 80. Like i said i love the crusier and have not regrets about getting it. my sons say that i am now part of the family now (offically). they are the ones that told me about this site and got me one it.

the question is this, i took the running boards off and a love the way it looks, (they kinda got in the way with them on) so anyways when i took them off it exposed a thing on the frame and i dont know what it is. here is a picture of the object and a picture of my new Cruiser. the object is one the passenger side of the fram right behind the transfer case cross member. the first pic is the cruiser of course then it is the odject in question. thanks in advance

If I recall, this is a harmonic adapter. Is that correct fellow mudders?

Yup.

It supposedly reduces vibration .... I took mine off a long time ago :)

Oh yeah...sorry

Welcome to `Mud !! ;)

I don't believe I have seen fender flares like that on a LC before. The are more 4Runner-like. It looks good without the running boards too.

Welcome.

that was going to be my next question about taking it off.

by the way SINCITY100 i was looking at the picture thread and sae that you had your wheels painted, could you put up some pictures of them, i really like the way it looks.

welcome!

Welcome!

Agree with the running boards that was the first to go and it looks so much nicer without them. Then the roof rack. You can get front mud flaps from cDan if you want them. They will keep the side of your cruiser clean.

Welcome. Plan to get a pair of sliders (check out Slee's 100 step sliders) on your rig to protect the rocker panels...assuming you will head on-trail with your '00.

Hi, and welcome! I guess this "thing" is the first to get our attention when we look under the frame for the first time. I asked the same when it was my turn ;)

My older son is a toyota tech and we already have the mud flaps coming.

eventually I will start to do some mods to it like all that has been mentioned so far. really looking forward to that day.

welcome Dad, i would say in that case lets get that dampner off of there.

Or better yet...

On the next trail, see if you can RIP it off !!
