Ive got a 96 with 212,000 miles on it and as far as I can tell besides brake pads nothing has been done with the brakes according to the service records I have. Today as I was leaving a parking lot my brake pedal went to the floor and I lost my brakes. I got out popped the hood and didnt see any fluid coming from the master cylinder, but when i looked underneath it appears the brake line burst open on the drivers side front leaving a puddle of fluid on the ground. I managed to limp home on side street in low gear the last 4 miles.

Talking to my YouTube mechanic (son) he said I need to replace all the brake lines not just the one that burst. Is there anything else I should do with the brake system since like I said it’s 30 year old truck with over 200k on it? New master cylinder, new booster etc??? Or just replace the lines and bleed the system and be done with it?

Fix what's broken, is my mantra. No need to load up the Parts Cannon (tm) unless you just won the lottery.

Might consider slightly longer lines from a reputable LC shop like Slee if you go Offroad with it. Otherwise, OEM and do all 4, the soft lines to the LSVP, bleed with new fresh fluid, and good for another 30 years.
