Ok everyone- my 85 4Runner, 33's/OME Lift, stock brakes (disk front, drum rear)

Had a bad master cylinder, replaced it(stock), couldn't get fluid to bleed from rears, found LSVP bad, removed it. Still cannot get pressure to build, or fluid to drain from the rears....

Do I need a proportioning valve or could I have something else going on...

DO I have to run a proportioning valve or can I run w/o one??

Thanks in advance.

What is the condition of the rear flex hose? This is a stretch but I had bad flex hoses on an old MGB, they had swollen on the inside and prevented fluid from flowing, probable not your problem, but you may have a clogged hard line or bad wheel cylinders.

I'd keep the LSPV. Cheap insurance.

1) yes you need a proportioning valve.

2) to confirm if you have a clog, remove brake line from master cyl and both rear brake drums. Blow air from your air compressor through the lines and confirm you have air coming out the other end. If so, re-install lines, and bleed system.

Check the adjustment of the rear shoes too. If you didn't mess with them then it's probably a long shot but since you're gonna be down there anyway you might as well.

It could definitely be a clogged line , a ballooning hose or shoes out of adjustment. Or a combination of things.

Not trying to be a dick but did you bleed the MC first?
