Hi I am a newby to the truck scene been a long standing Landcruiser guy 30+ years, I just picked up a 89 SR5 for my son while he is away at College in another Province.
Question #1 what way do the pads go one of the pads has a wing on it does this one go on the inside (backside) of the calipers or the outside.
Question #2 this is the first time I have experienced a broken stud on the outer rotor which would be the hubs on a LC I want to pull this out which way do I extract it clockwise or anti-clockwise I don't have the replacement yet to determine thread direction.

* I don't really think it matters on the brake pads, which one goes on the inside. That little "wing" think is a squeeler that is supposed to make a noise when they are worn out. I would try it on the outside first.

* That stud is screwed in clockwise, regular right-hand thread. If you weld a nut to it, it will back right out.

I would be surprised if a healthy pair of vice grips wouldn't take that stud out. PB blaster and work it back and forth till the teeth dig in. Then twist it out. Looks like a nice truck.
