Hi,

This has been talked about before. I have an all-OEM setup. I have new calipers and pads that are 37-47k miles old (I don't know exactly). And rotors that are 28k miles old. Mostly highway miles.

Rear left pad has worn through and is scoring the rotor. Is this expected? I have not checked the fronts for wear yet.

I am thinking I'll most likely reuse the rotors as I'm not feeling any kind of "warped" feeling, and get new pads. Some seem to like the EBC green pads. Any reason not to use them?

Some recommend adjusting the LSPV. It's a stock rig, or very nearly so. 265/75R16 for the summer tires. Any reason not to do that?

I miss drums in the rear. They seem to last a lot longer.

Thank you!

IME I got 15-20k on front pads and 25-30 for rears

I know you said new calipers but that sounds like a stuck piston. Or perhaps a kinked soft line or crushed hardline? Any trips on the tow truck? That’s where I’d see most hardline damage.

+1 for greenstuff. I ran those with OE rotors and was satisfied.

Should be no real reason or need to adjust LSPV at stock height.

+1 for caliper pins need greasing.

around here in the rust, pins sticking or or pads not moving freely in the bracket is the most likely reason why brakes need replaced. Hopefully you can have the OEM rotors machined and save them.
