brake booster

looking for a brake booster/master combo....i think....the one i installed on jakes 40 is now leaking....leak appears to be coming from where the master bolts to the booster...is there maybe something i should check before i replace it?....only the rear brake resevoir is loosing fluid...and help as always is appreciated.....

sounds to me you just need a new master
i would try that first

have you tried honing the bore and replacing the piston, ussually cheaper than buying a new unit

nope have'nt tried the honing and boring...i am kinda a replacement type guy...soooo the master can be replace seperate from the booster?...ahhh see i am always learning...i went from a very simple single master to a master and booster...ok so i need to seek out a new master....no honing and boring for me rob...thanks

hey...will a master from a fj60 or 62 work?...since i now have one of each at my disposal...thanks

i have never worked on a 60

marc dont know if a 60 or 62 will work, is the bolt pattern the same? as for rebuilding it's a realy easy job, 1 inside snap ring, pop out old piston, clean, 2-3 passes with hone on a drill, reverse assembly with new piston 15-20 min job. but if not i can get a rebuilt one for a 79 for 32.27 + tax need 1 day to order

i looked at pic on the ccot web site...looks like the 9/75 to something/80....the brake line feed into the top not into the sides....maybe i just out to try a rebuild...

yes it is configured like that...as soon as it gets light i am going out and take a pick of it...and posrt it here...how far are you from harrisonville?....i should have the pic up by 7:30 or so

jeeez it is cold outside....but here is a pic...it is dripping fluid on the bottom side of where the master bolts to the booster....

that look just like my 79, but i'm not having any luck finding a rebuild kit, so you want me to get a rebuilt one?
