Brake booster

is this an original part to a 1979 FJ40? Has disc in front and drums in back. It does continue to function, creaking away and The boot is pretty destroyed.

That booster was used for one year only, 1975, in the US, but continued to be used in foreign market four wheel drum brake rigs through 1980.

Thanks for the info! This could have very well been changed over the course of its life. Replace with a dual diaphragm model?

 

[Living in the Past]

75 model had drum brakes up front. Probably used in other markets that continued with drum brakes on the front axle. Dual diaphragm was used with disc brakes up front in the US up to 7/80.
