I too just picked up BP-51. With 2” of lift on the fronts, are UCA’s necessary? How about diff drops…are people running those? On a side note, the LC250’s that have had CV issues and oil pan punctures, would a diff drop and the added gap from CV to oil pan help prevent possible future issues?

With 2” lift and stock UCAs you’ll be able to get caster in spec but probably on the edge. Aftermarket UCAs will let you get to nominal.
Diff drop is going to reduce CV angle and create more clearance between diff and oil pan, but I think some of those who had that damage were also running diff drops so no guarantee.
I’m not running a diff drop with my BP-51s at 3” lift. I’ll probably upgrade to TrailHunter CVs though; I’m thinking having the CV not break is the way to avoid oil pan damage.
Yes there’s the “what’s next in line to break” issue but AFAIK there’s not a bunch of Tacomas and 4Runners breaking diffs, they just aren’t breaking CVs.

Here is my BP51 setup
Front 1.75”
Rear 1.1” (Dobinson rear 0.5” coil and 15mm poly spacer)
OME UCA
Dobinson Diff Drop (not installed yet)

Rides awesome on and off road. Tames the worst roads in the USA. No need to go off-road here in the Bay Area to test out the BP51s

Still rocking the factory Michelin XTLs and still getting 25-29 highway (Bradley V @26lb each)
Doubt my next set of tires will be larger than 33” until the CA tire restrictions kick in…then I’ll go 35s 🤡🤡 👑 🤴
