I have the 2 piece, long version rods that came with my 85 FJ60... I embarrassingly dis-remember where exactly they are supposed to be stored. Hoping one of you gentlemen can help jog my memory! Thanks!

On the 85’ the tools came in a little Toyota tool bag. The bag with tools was stored behind the pull out rear panel on the driver’s side all the way in the back. Next to the jack.

Hmmm... the only pull out panel I was aware of is an access panel for the rear wiper washer bag. I'll have to revisit that area...The tool bag and tools I have are virtually identical to your photo. There are some sort of hooks on the floorboard under the driver's seat where I thought maybe the jack was supposed to go. Thank you for the info!

My front passenger nether region is occupied by the rear heater/ blower housing so that's a no go. A new carpet job has partially obscured what's going on under the driver side seat. I guess I'm going to have to remove the seat to see exactly what's going on down there. My production date on the VIN plate is Sept. 85...I don't know if that's considered an early or late model FJ60

I bet you find some sheet metal pieces under there. It took me a bit to figure it out when i had the seats out replacing the seatbelts. Mine is an early 84 with an April production date. Can't remember when the cut off is?

Ok. On the 86’ FJ60 they made one of the panels at the rear on the driver’s side removable with two twist knobs. Since you don’t have those - then your tools were stored somewhere else. I thought earlier cruisers had their tools stored under the driver’s seat (but I didn’t have an early cruiser)

The jack rods and tool go under the driver side front seat. Rods go under those hooks.
