I bought stainless steel allen bolts and washers for mine back in the 80's. One of the plate nuts was bad and I should fix that better than the tapped to the next size bolt which I think I had an SAE. It does however work fine as is but requires more tools and paying attention.

The fiche card shows cover 51495 fastened with 91651-40825 screws.

Those screws are M8 x 1.25 x 25mm long with integral lock and flat washers made from low/medium strength carbon steel.
